"Behind the Screams" information and updates from Pittsburgh's Ultimate Haunted House. The ScareHouse in Pittsburgh, PA is ranked as one of “America’s Scariest Halloween Attractions” by Travel Channel and as one of America’s best haunted houses by AOL, Forbes, Fangoria, and Haunted Attraction magazine.
This week on The ScareHouse podcast: how former "home haunters" Tim and Anne Marie Gavinski turned their Halloween hobby into one of America's best haunted attractions. Their creation, the Wisconsin Feargrounds, was recently ranked as the #1 "Must See Haunts" in the country by Haunted Attraction Magazine.
So how did an elaborate yard display grow into an enormous annual production with more than 150 employees? How do Tim and Anne Marie create such elaborate haunted attractions with such a limited amount of time for installation, production, and teardown? And what's with the Squeaky Cheese Curds?
"Timmer" and Anne Marie join hosts Rob Johnston and Laura Kelly, and ScareHouse Creative Director Scott Simmons, for a VERY lively and fun episode of The ScareHouse podcast! KDKA: "The Scarehouse definitely lives up to its name. Scarehouse is ranked amongst the top of the pack for haunted houses nationally."
Nichole M: "Scarehouse is one of the best in the COUNTRY not just in this city. It's very clear that they spend a great deal of time in planning the interior decor, the costumes, and the acting. I honestly almost peed a little more than once"
Jessica M: "I love the Scarehouse! I had no idea what to expect going in, but I had heard friends speak highly of it. I was not disappointed!"

KDKA says "The Scarehouse — located in Etna — definitely lives up to its name. Scarehouse is ranked amongst the top of the pack for haunted houses nationally. The Travel Channel calls it “One of America’s Scariest Halloween Attractions.” I visited this haunt last year and they are not kidding! Admission includes entry to three attractions and you can buy a ticket only for immediate entry. If you choose to wait on the long line outside – don’t be put off by the cheesy actors who attempt to scare and annoy you. And by the way, the wait is well worth it. Inside there are multiple rooms of fright. The most memorable moments were definitely the endless maze of punching bags that never ended, and the cool Delirium 3-D rooms. It takes about 30 anxiety-ridden minutes to work your way through so you won’t feel cheated by the admission price." Click here to read reviews of other Halloween attractions in Pittsburgh.

Oni drove six hours from Jersey to check out Pittsburgh's Ultimate Haunted House and declared it "freaking awesome!"
From her review: Should you go to the Scarehouse? Most definitely! These guys have extremely high-quality set pieces and many scare actors working inside them. I would put them on par with the amazing set pieces that Busch Gardens Tampa creates. (English translation: VERY good.) Click here to see the review on onezumiverse.com.
